From: PARISH Neil ASSISTANT2 <neil.parish-assistant2@europarl.europa.eu> Subject: RE: e.u.law/urgent To: janbramwell2001@yahoo.co.uk Date: Thursday, 26 March, 2009, 8:45 AM Dear Ms. Bramwell, Thank you once again for your e-mail. Unfortunately Mr Parish is unable to address the parliament about this manner as there is no equivalent to Prime Ministers Question Time in the European Parliament - as you can imagine every MEP represents a huge number of constituents and it would therefore be impossible for this to happen. The only final advice I can give is to submit a petition to the European Parliament, you can find more details on how to do this here
However, as the Parliament breaks up in a months time for the European elections, and Mr Parish himself is standing down, there would not be enough time for this to be brought up in the Petitions Committee during this Parliament. It could be addressed following the elections in June, may I point out though that the petitions committee cannot override decisions taken by competent authorities within Member States. Yours sincerely, Joe Buxton Assistant to Neil Parish MEP |
